The Global Checkout™ service requires two steps, which may occur at different times:

Quote Generation
Basic shipment or order information is provided to calculate your Guaranteed Duties, Taxes, and Fees
Generates a unique Quote ID to identify your shipment and its associated guaranteed cost

Shipment Creation
When you create your shipment and print your label with UPS, include the Quote ID from step 1
Providing the Quote ID is required so UPS can link the guaranteed charges to your shipment
Each shipment requires a new Quote ID. Costs are calculated at the time of quote generation. Quotes are valid for 90 days from the time of quote generation to the time of customs clearance.
